Domhnall Gleeson has long been confirmed to be among the casts of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” However, he has not been featured in character in any of the previously released trailers and TV spots until recently. A special on-the-set featurette into the film finally gives fans a glimpse at Gleeson’s role as General Hux.

Brought by Disney and published by Flickering Myth on its official YouTube channel, the video below shows a quick glimpse at Gleeson dressed in his villain costume. The actor is dressed in an all-black attire with his hair fully combed back to give him that dictatorial look. He is aboard on what looked to be an Imperial Destroyer, calling out orders “Fire” against the Rebel ships.

General Hux is described as one of the military leaders of The First Order. So that basically makes him as one of the villains in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Although Kylo Ren is very much talked about as the main antagonist in the film, Gleeson revealed that Hux also plays an important role in the movie since he is also on the hunt for power, much like Kylo Ren.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gleeson talked about the differences between General Hux and Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver. Calling his character as a “strong disciplinarian” would reportedly be a mild way to describe the villain. In fact, Gleeson said General Hux is “ruthless” in his desire for power and this puts him under Kylo Ren’s radar.

“He’s kind of opposite Kylo Ren. They have their own relationship, which is individual and unusual. One of them is strong in different ways than the other. They’re both vying for power,” he said.

Gleeson also described General Hux as someone who has “an air of superiority,” who feels he is better than anyone else around him. The actor teased his character in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” have done some very terrible things in order to achieve his desired level of power, which according to Entertainment Weekly is to exert force on all inhabitants of the galaxy.

“You have to put a few people down on the way to get there,” Gleeson told the publication.
