More spoilers have been released online for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ahead of its theatrical release on Dec. 18, 2015. This time a report claims to have knowledge of Domhnall Gleeson’s role. As opposed to rumours of him playing Luke Skywalker’s son, the actor is believed to play another villain in the movie called “The General.”

Jason Ward from Making Star Wars described “The General” as “an Imperial Officer-type character,” who reports to the “Uber” reportedly played by Andy Serkis. Domhnall Gleeson is rumoured for the role of Luke Skywalker’s son, but Ward said concept details for the film say otherwise. These details include some scenes that supposedly involve “The General.”

According to Ward, a couple of scenes would be at the much-reported Evil Castle setting in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” In the first scene, “The General” will reportedly be watching in horror as the Parade Ground falls away. Indie Revolver has previously shared a concept art showing how this Parade Ground may look like. The second scene sees “The General” inside the castle doing his “final check-in” with his boss, the “Uber.” According to Jason Ward, this sequence of events reportedly happens when the Rebels attack the castle after they have dismantled its protecting shields.

“It appears to me 'The General' watches as the charges blow and he eventually dies as they trigger one by one and the castle area collapses. I’m guessing he tells 'Uber' he has failed and the weapon is lost,” Ward said.

However, Screen Rant claimed that Domhnall Gleeson could also be playing the role of a double agent who’s on a secret mission to rid the galaxy of superweapons. He takes no sides although he is reportedly also on the hunt for Finn (John Boyega) after the latter has gone AWOL from the Empire. Gleeson’s still unknown character in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is believed to be a villain since he will be doing bad things but for the greater good of everyone.

Whether Domhnall Gleeson will be playing Luke Skywalker’s son, a double agent or “The General” in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” remain unknown. The actor has remained mum on his role in the film during interviews.
