“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is one of the most anticipated films of this year. The recent rumours in regard to the film’s plot suggest that it may feature Luke Skywalker’s son and the actor who could play the character is Domhnall Gleeson.

According to Makingstarwars’ report, three trusted sources have hinted that Gleeson will play Skywalker’s son in J.J Abrams’ film. Gleeson is rumoured to play an imperial commandant who will send Chrome Stormtroopers after Finn. He will reportedly have connections with the villains and will assist them in finding Finn.

It has also been reported that Gleeson’s character will try to “disarm the galaxy of the superweapons” as he thinks that there should not be no superpowers in the galaxy. However, in his wake to do good, he will reportedly end up harming the galaxy. Gleeson would play “double agent” in the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” as further reported by the website. He will reportedly succeed in ceasing the Intergalactic Cold War, however, he will “open the new war front” which will give rise to a battle to win the control over the planets. This will reportedly make way for many “Star Wars” sequels.

Furthermore, it has also been suggested that if Gleeson plays Skywalker’s son then the theory of latter turning into a villain may also come true, reports Cinema Blend. It should be known these are rumours and there is no confirmation whether Gleeson will play Skywalker’s son or the latter will turn villain during the course of the film.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the seventh instalment in the "Star Wars" series. The events in the film will take place 30 years after the events of "Return of the Jedi." It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Gleeson and Max von Sydow, with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker. The major shooting of the film has taken place in Abu Dhabi, Ireland and Pinewood Studios. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is scheduled to be released on Dec.18, 2015.
