The San Francisco Giants on Sunday beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 with a double-run from pinch-hitter Ramiro Pena. Pena faced off against pitcher Enrique Burgos.

"They told me I could enter as a pinch-hitter, but I just didn't know when. I got my chance and here we are," said Pena. The player said that he was ready for the game in spite of a sprain in his left ankle.

The Major League Baseball teams faced off in Chase Field stadium, situated in Phoenix, Arizona. The game started off with the Diamondbacks pitching first with Robbie Ray and the Giants at bat. The D-backs was first to score in the second inning through Phil Gosselin and Brandon Drury's back-to-back doubles. Later in the game, the Giants led the scoreboards with their own back-to-back home-runs from Brandon Belt and Mac Williamson in the third and fourth inning. The score was 4-1.

The D-backs managed to get one run back in the sixth inning with Paul Goldschmidt's 15th home-run in this year's season. In the eighth inning, Jake Lamb scored a homer from Giants pitcher Cory Gearrin and tied the game 4-4. In the top of the 11th inning, however, Burgos walked the initial batter Jarrett Parker. Pena then stepped into the batter's box and struck right when he saw the pitch, sending the ball flying into the right field. This gave the Giants a chance to score and win the match.

"The guys found a way to get it done," said Bruce Bochy, manager of the Giants. "Pena was huge, obviously. It was a great win." Chip Hale, the D-backs manager, stated that it was a great game. "Obviously when you tie it at home, you feel like you have a good chance to win it. Just wasn't meant to be today I guess."
