Samsung has released an advertisement with Gear S smartwatch taking the lead. Notably, this gadget was introduced first in its home country, South Korea. Touted as the best wearable device from Samsung, the Gear S is now part of the already-heavy list of the smartwatches like the Motorola Moto 360, Sony SmartWatch 3 and LG G Watch R.

The Tizen OS powered Gear S' ad lists the device's functionalities and also talks about the circumstances, where one could make good use of the gadget. Nonetheless, unlike Samsung's usual style of wittiness and quirkiness, this ad is not the most impressive one. Instead, it sticks to the subject matter in a traditional way, according to Phone Arena.

As far as the key specifications go, the Samsung Gear S features a 2.0-inch Curved Super AMOLED display with 360 x 480 pixels resolution. The gadget is powered by a dual-core (Samsung's Exynos) processor, clocked at 1 GHz and backed by 512 MB of RAM. The device comes equipped with 4 GB of built-in storage and the whole configuration is powered by a modest Li-ion 300 mAh battery unit.

Interestingly, the smartwatch comes with a SIM card slot. And the gadget supports 3G, Wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity options. Therefore, the Gear S can make or receive phone calls and messages, without the need for a paired smartphone. Users can also send messages with the help of the onscreen pop out keyboard, which apparently supports 69 different languages. Therefore, the Gear S is certainly the most powerful smartwatch from Samsung. Moving on to the sensors, the gadget houses the quintessential heart rate monitor, barometer and UV light sensor. Plus, the device comes with IP67 rating, which translates to having dust- and water-resistant exterior. Also, Samsung has upped the game by introducing built-in GPS system on the latest smartwatch.

It is worth noting that a total of 10,000 Gear S units have been sold on the day the device was released. Potential buyers can purchase the gadget from AT&T and Sprint in the U.S. However, Verizon and T-Mobile will stock the device in the near future. Lastly, the outright price of the Gear S is US$299.99. Interested readers can check out the latest ad on the Samsung Gear S smartwatch.
