Pacquiao vs. Marquez

The dream match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr still hangs in the air since there is nothing yet concrete between the two camps save for negotiations and offers.

But the two pound-for-pound king contenders have been battling it out in social media the past few months, which some boxing fans probably find amusing if not as entertaining as a real match.

The latest jab came from Pacquiao, fresh from his retaining the WBO welterweight title by convincingly beating American boxer Chris Algieri with a unanimous decision.

On Monday, Pacquiao posted a photo of their bout in Macau but what made the Instagram image more interesting is the caption that was directed at Money May.

Pacquiao wrote, "Stop throwing punches on Instagram and let's get in the ring." He used the hashtags #TBE and #TheBestExcuses, a parody to Mayweather's reference to himself as TBE or The Best Ever.

Mayweather actually threw the first punch when he belittled Pacquiao's victory over Algieri by posting a video of Pacquiao's loss to Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012.

Marquez, having given Pacquiao one of his 5 losses, believes that if the dream match would happen Mayweather would win, but he would not be able to knock out Pacquiao the way the Mexican boxer did.
