U.S. President Barack Obama and his family have arrived back in Washington D.C. after their annual two-week Christmas vacation in Hawaii. The first family landed at Joint Base Andrews. Obama indulged in his usual routine of golfing with friends, family hiking and beach excursions and several dinners at some of Hawaii’s top restaurants.

The Obamas were pictured arriving in Air Force One on Sunday, People reports. They also opted for comfortable, casual ensembles to keep them warm. Their outfits complemented each other. While Malia and Obama sported black outfits, Sasha and Michelle wore beige coats.

The final day of the Obamas’ Christmas vacation was also one of their busiest. The family-of-four hiked at the Makiki Loop Hawaii Nature Centre, saw Obama’s childhood school and dined at Japanese restaurant, Morimoto.

The president started the day with a two-hour visit to the beach at Bellows Air Force Station with first lady, daughters, and undisclosed friends.

After some rest at the first family’s vacation rental in Kailua, the Obamas travelled to Manoa to spend time with the president’s sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. The whole family visited the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. It is the place where the president’s grandfather Stanley Dunham is buried; and to the East-West Centre, with which Obama’s and Soetoro-Ng’s mother, anthropologist S. Ann Dunham, was long affiliated.

The family next visited the Honolulu Zoo. While Obama walked with his older daughter Malia, Sasha remained close to her cousins. All the members of the family seemed elated visiting the zoo. They returned to Kailua and the motorcade left for Buzz’s Steakhouse, where the family dined with friends.

A small group of onlookers had apparently predicted this last stop and was awaiting the motorcade’s arrival, hoping to get a glimpse of the president. After dinner, the first family left for Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and the flight back to Washington after their two-week vacation, ABC reports.

The family also visited San Bernardino, California and met families of shooting victims, on their way to Hawaii.
