U.S. president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama could not control their laughter and went into splits when they came across the tiniest pope in White House on Friday. Obama and his wife first welcomed the children of military families to come and trick-or-treat on the lawn of the White House.

The couple ended up laughing their heart out as they saw a toddler dressed in the costume of pope. The kid was pushed by his doting dad in the tiniest mini popemobile. “Top prize!” Obama exclaimed when he saw the mini pope, Huffington Post reports.

The White House took to Twitter and shared the pictures of the adorable toddler as well as a video.

The Obamas also welcomed a host of other characters to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, including a tiny Cubs player and a handful of princesses. One girl was also dressed as the first lady. The president and first lady stood next to the circular driveway, near the doorway to the residence, which was decorated with multi-coloured pumpkins and black spider webs, MTV reports.

The White House’s South Lawn was turned into an “enchanted forest” with woodland creatures below, a skeleton swinging by trapeze overhead, and black-clad ghosts gyrating atop sway poles.

Obama and his wife were dressed as themselves and gave away treats including baseball cards of the Obama’s dogs Bo and Sunny, M&Ms, fruit bars, kettle corn, White House Halloween cookies and various candies, according to The Associated Press.

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama posted a picture of two kids dressed as her and her husband during Halloween on her official Instagram. She posted the picture beside a picture of her standing beside the president during the Chinese State Dinner held at White House in September. Aliniah Wilson and Jayden Proctor dressed as Barack and Michelle. The dress worn by the small girl was handmade by her great grandmother, and the young boy’s outfit was ordered from Amazon, according to Aliniah’s mom, Ashli Cobbins-Austin, The Kancas City Star reports.

The 51-year-old first lady chose an off-the-shoulder black custom mermaid gown created by Chinese-American fashion designer Vera Wang. The floor grazing dress featured sheer sleeves and a tulle skirt, with a low-cut back. It had a deep-V detail on the neckline.

She accessorised with a chunky green ring and matching long earrings. Her dark hair was swept to one side and styled in curls. She kept her make-up simple with smoky eyes and some lip gloss.
