“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Wednesday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Elly goes up to Susan and reveals that Angus kissed her that night before she passed out. When Susan asks him if it was true, Angus says it was a spur of the moment thing. Elly insists that it’s not the first time it happened, and tells Susan that during the Halloween dance, Angus borrowed Mark’s mask and tricked her into kissing him.

Susan blows her top over Elly and Angus’ decision to keep mum about those two extremely serious situations. Angus begs Susan not to make it a big deal, but she says she has no choice since it’s already a police case.

Meanwhile, Digital Spy reports that with Brooke’s departure, the Cannings confess to their neighbours about the fake jewellery scam. Some of their neighbours understand the situation, but the Kennedys aren’t so sympathetic. Elsewhere, Kathy arrives early to surprise Lauren, who wonders whether there’s still a chance for her parents to reunite.

“Neighbours” recap

On Tuesday, Brooke explained to the Cannings why her jewellry business failed, which was part of the reason why she went to Erinsborough. She also came clean of putting too much spice on Sheila’s food to make it appear that the old lady’s having a heart attack – it was a ruse to make everyone think Xanthe’s too much to handle and she should be with her mum. As for her rekindled relationship with Gary, that was just part of the whole deception game.

Brooke pleaded with Sheila, Gary and Xanthe to help her fix things with the scammed neighbours. The three had a meeting and an argument ensued – Sheila thought of ways to come up with the money to pay back the neighbours, but Gary didn’t want to bail Brooke out. Sheila insisted that she’s doing it for the whole family. However, the plans changed when Brooke’s boyfriend turned up to collect his money. Sheila wrote him a cheque that was supposed to be the neighbours’ payments. She then told Brooke that she had to come clean to everyone and work out a plan until she can pay them. For now, she’d live with the Cannings.

Xanthe gave Brooke a diary that she’s been writing on to keep her mum updated about her life. Reading it, Brooke began to realise that she can’t be a good mum to Xanthe, at least not right now. She decided to leave and wrote Xanthe a long note for her explanation. With her bags, Brooke left Erinsborough. When Xanthe arrived home and read her mum’s note, she broke into tears.

Meanwhile, Elly was devastated to hear that Susan had to tell the education department about what happened with Angus. Worse, she had to move out from Leo’s after their argument and had nowhere to go. The next day, Susan told her that the education department wanted the issue to be investigated and the police had to be involved. Susan also confronted Elly about seeing her talking to Angus earlier and it looked very intense. Elly tried to explain, but Susan told her that until everything has been resolved, it’s best for Elly to take a leave.

Elly gave her statement to Mark as part of the investigation. He also interviewed Angus, who insisted it was just a crush and that nothing happened between them. Mark then went to Susan and told her and Elly that based on his investigation, Elly did nothing wrong and there was no case at all. The two women sighed a big relief and Susan asked Elly to come back home. Later, at Elly’s room, she saw the glass of water and flashed back on what happened that night. She remembered Angus telling her that she’s beautiful, then leaning in to give her a kiss.
