“Mr Robot” is set for a comeback in its home network, the USA Channel, for its third season. Although no official release date has been announced for the upcoming season yet, talk is rampant about what will happen next in the series. Krista (Gloria Reuben) is expected to be back to help her patient, Elliot (Rami Malek), banish Edward (Christian Slater) from his thoughts.

The second instalment of “Mr Robot” has seen Elliot dealing with his hallucinations. The main character of his delusion is his imaginary father, Edward. In “Mr Robot” season 2, the latter has been in full control.

Edward has been successful in making the “Mr Robot” lead character think that he killed Tyrell (Martin Wallström). But the ex-employee of E Corp was well and alive. He even managed to shoot Elliot in the chest before “Mr Robot” season 2 has ended.

It only goes to show that Edward can do anything he wants to Elliot. Krista has been trying to help her patient, but Elliot is yet to succeed in overthrowing Edward. The imaginary friend is a force to reckon with as the character is indeed evolving.

Series creator Sam Esmail has previously addressed the evolution of Edward in “Mr Robot” season 3. Esmail teased about what to expect from the character next season, saying "disintegration” is a word he could use to describe him.

He went on to explain that the series’ lead character is actually dealing with different stages of depression. "[Each season has] a different stage of (Elliot's) disorder. The (Christian Slater's) Mr. Robot character has to reflect what stage Elliot is in, and how to handle that disorder,” the show creator told Deadline.

During these stages, it is expected that Krista will help Elliot in his fight against his inner demons. It seems like the court-appointed therapist of Elliot would do everything in her power to ensure that her patient is well.

In “Mr Robot” season 2, viewers have witnessed how Krista would always encourage Elliot to open up instead of resorting to keep his feelings to himself. The former would confront him about his delusions throughout their sessions, but with no luck as Elliot is still mentally ill.

“Mr Robot” season 2 aired in Showcase in Australia. There are reports that the third season of the show will air in July. Official air date for the third season is expected to be announced in the near future.
