“Mr Robot” season 3 now has an official premiere date. It was recently announced that the USA network series will be returning to the small screens in October 2017. The third run will feature new cast addition too, as Emmy-winning actor Bobby Cannavale joins the show as a regular cast.

USA Network announced on March 10 that the series will be back for its third season this October. Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, said they are eager to share the next stage of the main protagonist’s life.

Deadline reported that Cannavale from HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” will be part of the third instalment for “Mr Robot.” He will play the role of Irving, a salesman of pre-loved cars. It was not revealed if he also has some mad hacking skills like most of the characters in the show do.

How Irving will fit in the life of Elliot (Rami Malek) is yet to be seen. No further details have been revealed as far as the new character is concerned, aside from the fact that he will sell used cars.

Cannavale is best known for headlining the 1970s New York rock & roll series, “Vinyl,” in which he portrayed the role of a drug-addled record executive. The actor has also been part of the “Boardwalk Empire,” and has become unforgettable for his performance as psycho kingpin, Gyp Rosetti.

The actor is also recognised for his works. He was awarded a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Boardwalk Empire.” He also got a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for “Nurse Jackie.”

Meanwhile, viewers can expect to see more of Whiterose (BD Wong) next season as Wong bumped up from a recurring cast member to full time. Whiterose plays an antagonist role in the show -- a hacker affiliated with the Dark Army.

Last season, she seemed to have convinced Angela (Portia Doubleday) to leave Elliot’s team and side with them instead. The two characters spoke for nearly thirty minutes, with details of their conversation kept under wraps. But whatever Whiterose told Angela about seemed enough for the latter to have a change of heart.

But creator Sam Esmail assured fans that Angela’s love for Elliot is a guarantee. “I don’t think that will ever change,” Esmail told Variety as he refers to the love of Angela for Elliot. “Mr Robot” season 2 aired on Showcase in Australia.
