“Mr Robot” has been renewed for another season as confirmation from USA Network. Although no official release date has been set for the series yet, fans are on the lookout about what to expect next season. Fortunately, show creator Sam Esmail is generous in providing some hints, such as a coalition in the storyline.

Esmail said one of the best things last season is that most of the characters had their own time to shine. He said among those who had a wonderful season are Angela Moss (Portia DoubleDay), Joanna Wellick (Stephanie Corneliussen) and Dominique DiPierro (Grace Gummer).

“The one thing about this season is that everybody has been spread out, struggling to get their lives back in order,” he said. Esmail teased that one thing that fans can expect next season is to see the storylines of the characters colliding. He said that is when fireworks are going to happen.

The coalition, the show creator said, is specifically between the characters of Gummer and Carly Chaikin (Darlene). Esmail praised the two actresses, saying they are both on top of their game.

Last season, Gummer’s character has given a whole python speech. Esmail said it is something that he remembers shooting and feels it was what the whole season has been about. The creator said all the plots are taking place underneath the lead characters and the effort is paying off.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Networks president Chris McCumber has praised the series, saying he is proud of “Mr Robot.” He said it is a show that pushes boundaries and captures cultural zeitgeist. “We can’t wait to see where Sam Esmail and the entire brilliant robot team take us next,” he told Variety.

“Mr Robot” season 2 has been recognised by award-giving bodies too. It has won at the Golden Globes Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. It secured Best Television Series and Best Performance by an Actor for Christian Slater (Mr Robot) at the Golden Globes. Rami Malek (Elliot), on the other hand, was recognised as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Outstanding Music Composition for a Series at the Primetime Emmys went to Mac Quayle.

The show focuses on the story of Elliot, a young programmer and cybersecurity engineer battling with mental illness. He was recruited by an underground hacker group. “Mr Robot” season 2 aired in Showcase in Australia. Release date for season 3 is expected to be announced in the near future.
