"Harry Potter" may be over and done but that doesn't mean the magic is over. "Potterheads" and fellow bookworms rejoice because another book series is set to hit the big screen. Say hello to the world of Shadowhunters in Cassandra Clare's best-selling fictional novels, "The Mortal Instruments." Here's all there is to know about the world of Nephilim, Shadowhunters and Downworlders.

Readers have so much to look forward to in the world of book-to-film adaptations. "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" may have ended but in their place come a few more films that are bound to get their attention. One of these highly-anticipated film adaptations is that of Cassie Clare's novels, "The Mortal Instruments."

The series is comprised of six books the last novel of which is set to hit bookstores nationwide by March 2014. As for the films, the first book, "City of Bones" is set to debut in cinemas by August 2013. The film stars Lily Collins as the lead protagonist, Clary Fray, on the search for the truth and her missing mother. Of course, things go pretty rough and complicated in the end when Clary Fray gets involved in matters of the heart and blood relations. The book synopsis is as follows:

"When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?"

"This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . ."

"Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end."
