The best indicator that Microsoft’s release date plans for the Surface Pro 4 is happening very soon is an irresistible deal on its immediate predecessor – the Surface Pro 3. The 2014 Windows-powered tablet is up grabs for as low as $600 if buyers will avail of the latest Best Buy promo.

As the U.S. retail giant highlights its exclusive deal on the Pro 3, which CNET said will last only until April 17, Surface tablet watchers can’t help to assume that the sequel – the Surface Pro 4 – is coming to town quite soon. They based their guess on the widespread practice seen in previous years – gadget makers and retailer dangled huge price off to lure in buyers to their old models.

The tactic brings in the cash and clears out inventory. So with the old stocks out of the way, rooms are created for the fresh builds and in Microsoft’s case – the company could be setting the stage for the imminent Surface Pro 4 arrival.

Juicy Pro 3 packages

Tablet fans planning to skip the Pro 4, which likely will debut with the much-awaited Windows 10, can take advantage of the Pro 3 packages that Best Buy has in store for them. The promotional campaign is quite simple, according to CNET. Would be buyers will only need to bring in an old working tablet that they’re willing to swap for the Surface Pro 3.

Depending on the condition of the tablet to be traded in, buyers can get as much as $200 discount on the Pro 3 model that they want to take home. For instance, the 64GB Pro 3 that is powered by an Intel i3 chip is ready for the taking for only $600 at Best Buy.

That is provided a tablet to be swapped in will merit the topmost appraisal value that translates to $150. On top of that, swappers are automatically entitled to a $50 gift card and the combined value can then be used for the Surface Pro 3 purchase.

Customers, however, are duly reminded that the value credits they will get will hinge on the condition of the device that will surrender. Needless to say, the best looking and fully working tablets will attract the top-dollar appraisal from Best Buy experts.

Rumoured Surface Pro 4 specs and features

Yet for those really lusting after the Pro 4, which logic dictates is the bumped up version of its predecessor, getting into the waiting game might be worth the trouble. Apart from being assured of getting the top-tier i7 chip, the RAM provision could reach the desktop-level of 16GB or even higher.

The Pro 4 internal storage is also tipped to go for 1TB though this remains unconfirmed. But at the minimum component specs and features that Pro 4 is equipped with, there is little doubt that the device is the workhorse that users are craving for whether the planned use is for gaming or productivity.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is set for an official introduction this April 2015. Then the actual release date is predicted to coincide with the Windows 10 arrival, which reports said will happen twice – in July and October this year.
