Best Buy is going to launch a trade-in deal for Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablets. Those who would like to get rid of their present tablets can easily do so, through Saturday, by trading in the tablet they are currently using for a gift card that is worth, at least, $50 and a $150 coupon.

Both of these items may be used for purchasing a new Surface Pro 3. The tablet that is going to be traded in has to be, of course, in good working condition. Device experts will be checking out the product first before giving the “Go” signal that the trade-in may resume.

Units that have been damaged by water and have cracks on its screen will not be accepted. Tablet units that serve as eBook readers are not included in this latest promo.

The amount of the gift card that is going to be given back to the owner will actually depend on the condition of the device, as pointed out by CNET.

The Surface Pro 3 has actually launched last May and it has already gone through numerous promo periods. Its price was hugely slashed in December and in February, taking $100 off its actual price for a limited time frame. Now, with this trade-in deal from Best Buy, it would appear that Microsoft has no plans of stopping its strive to entice potential consumers with Surface Pro 3 units.

Tablet owners who are interested in this deal can check their estimated trade-in value on BestBuy.com. However, the trade-in can only be done within an official Best Buy store. Removing any discounts, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 entry level 64 GB Intel Core i3 costs $799.99, while its more advanced model, the 512 GB Intel i7 will cost $1,949.99, according to PC Mag.

Microsoft has always pushed for the Surface Pro 3 to be the suitable replacement for laptops. According to the report, the company’s goal was to prove to everyone that the unit is more versatile than its competitors in the market since it has a double purpose, both as a tablet and a notebook – once the Type cover keyboard is connected.
