With announcement of the new Surface 3 tablet which has a design language that mainly borrows from the successful Surface Pro 3 tablet, Microsoft could opt to release the successor of Surface Pro 3 sometime later in the year when Windows 10 is expected to be launched instead of the June or July timeframe.

Digi Times reports that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 may get announced at the Microsoft Build Conference that starts on April 29. In June, the Surface Pro 4 mass production is set to begin. As Windows 10 is slated for a release in second half of the year, Surface Pro 4 will arrive preloaded with it.

In the past few weeks, there has been a lot of whispers rumoring that Microsoft could be launching a new tablet soon. It is only last week when Microsoft unveiled the Surface 3 tablet, the successor of Surface 2 tablet. But this time round, the Surface 3 runs on full Windows and this may be perceived as the final nail when it comes to death of Windows RT.

Leaving the death of Windows RT and the unveiling of Surface 3 tablets aside, let’s have a look at what is about to transpire for Surface Pro tablet. Going by the reports and rumors, there is some good reason to believe that the Surface Pro 4 tablet may not be released until sometimes October 2015.

According to some reports, Microsoft could make the decision against the launch of Surface Pro 4 if that is what would end up being called the tablet in summer or precisely June to July. The company instead may have to wait until October. One reason why Microsoft has to wait for this long is that it probably wants to ensure that Surface Pro 4 comes as the first device with a pre-installed Windows 10.

The Microsoft’s new software is likely to be launched around the same time. Considering that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for anyone who runs Windows 8.1 it may be not wrong to say that nothing yet prevents Microsoft from releasing the tablet sooner. In spite of the rumors on the release of the tablet, there is nothing much known about its specification and probably consumers will have to wait until near the time of launch when more details are expected to emerge.
