Chinese handset maker Meizu is going after OnePlus 2 with its latest campaign that urges OnePlus users to swap their flagship smartphone for a new Meizu PRO 5.

It would appear OnePlus is getting a taste of its own medicine, as Tech Times pointed out. OnePlus once launched a campaign like this called #TakeTheEdgeOff encouraging Samsung device users to swap their Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, or Galaxy Note 5 for a new OnePlus 2.

OnePlus, which is also a Chinese firm, managed to convince 50 Samsung Galaxy users to surrender their smartphones, which were donated to charity, and get a OnePlus 2 unit instead.

Meizu is stepping it up and going after OnePlus 2 owners. Unfortunately, no information has been given about precisely how many "winners" the company will select.

Those interested in trading in their current OnePlus 2 devices for the new Pro 5 only have to do one thing. Users will have to tell Meizu why they want to #TurnTheHeatOff, which turns out to be the name of the Meizu campaign.

In addition to being relatively similar to OnePlus' previous campaign, #TakeTheEdgeOff, this new hash tag from Meizu is also a clear jab at a common OnePlus 2 problem that involves its Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Its Snapdragon processor has been heavily criticized on the Internet because of its overheating problems.

OnePlus hasn’t launched a fix for this problem as of yet, which is most likely why Meizu is jumping in and urging users to give up their overheating units for a new PRO 5 model.

The Meizu PRO 5 sports a 5.7-inch full HD screen and packs an Exynos 7420 processor. Plus, the model has two configurations for RAM and storage.

The unit's 32 GB variant comes out of the package with 3 GB of RAM, while the 64 GB version features 4 GB of RAM. Both variants support extended memory via a MicroSD card.
