Potential OnePlus 2 buyers have only up to October 22 to reserve their phones since OnePlus has decided to end its Invite Reservation List on that day.

The company first made waves in the smartphone industry when it introduced the original OnePlus phone last year. As soon as it was unveiled, the device was quickly referred to as a "flagship killer". Tech Times reported that the phone’s successor, the upcoming OnePlus 2, has also become one of the most in-demand smartphones.

Similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 2 promises to deliver top-of-the-line performance, especially with its expected high-end specs. What makes the device a must-have is that it offers all of its amazing features at a fraction of the cost of rival smartphones.

With that in mind, tech users have been waiting for the go signal for OnePlus 2 preorders to begin. Sadly, however, the company decided to use an invite-only gimmick for the device. This move was a result of the company's decision to make sure production is equal to demand.

This very same gimmick was actually implemented for the original OnePlus last year. For unspecified reasons, however, the stunt was scrapped after a year. Surprisingly, this gimmick was applied to the OnePlus 2.

With the Invite Reservation List, interested consumers can only get their hands on the device if they get an Invite. This means they’ll have to sign up for an Invite to get the OnePlus 2.

"As production is ramping up, we want to ensure that as many people as possible -- who signed up -- get their Invite”, the company stated on OnePlus Forums. "So, we feel it is in the best interest of our users to close the List and make sure that this happens”.

Unfortunately, this option won’t last long. The Invite Reservation List for the OnePlus 2 will be closed by October 22. At the moment, there are already five million sign-ups for Invites. That said, OnePlus wants to focus on serving these clients before adding more potential buyers to the List.
