Tiger Woods did what he thought would be best for his plummeting career -- a change, that includes a new team to help him reinvigorate his game. But this is a change that does not fit in to his long-time caddie, Steve Williams, who expressed his "shock" when told that he is no longer carrying the pro golfer’s bag.

He claims that while he understands that Woods has every right to choose who will be under his employ, Williams pointed out that the timing for the embattled golfer to cut him loose is ‘extraordinary, hinting having regrets for sticking it out with Woods amidst scandal since 2009.

"You could say I've wasted the last two years of my life. I've stuck with Tiger and been incredibly loyal. I'm not disappointed I've been fired -- that's part of the job -- but the timing is extraordinary," Williams said of Woods’ decision announced Wednesday.

Williams was referring to what has been described as his ‘misguided’ loyalty to Tiger Woods. The New Zealander has stuck with him since Woods’ infidelities and sex scandals shocked not only the golf community but every sector of the society looking up to Woods and his contributions to the sport.

What he resents the most is the failure on both him and Tiger to clear his name - - which was conveniently dragged into the shocking sexual activities of one of the most popular and highly achieved professional golfer in the world.

"My name should have been cleared immediately," Williams said, according to a report written by Jay Busbee of Yahoo Sports. "It wasn't and that's what makes it even more disappointing what's transpired [recently]."

Meanwhile, Williams has also announced in a statement posted on his website (http://www.kiwicaddy.co.nz/) that he will now be working with Australian golfer Adam Scott.

"Following the completion of the AT&T National I am no longer caddying for Tiger after he informed me that he needed to make a change. After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock. Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time. I have had the opportunity to work of late for Australian Adam Scott and will now caddy for him on a permanent basis. Having started my caddying career with Australian great Peter Thompson and working for Greg Norman in the 80's I am excited about the future working for another Australian."
