After making its viewers agonize over who killed Wes and how, “How to Get Away with Murder” finally unveiled the murderer’s identity. However, this still left a lot of fans with more questions after the big killer reveal. There is still so much that is to be known; the team find themselves shrouded in mystery even more.

The first hour of the season 3 episode finale had everyone looking at ADA Todd Denver as the killer. Later on, it turns out that he was not alone. Dominic, the man who was initially thought to have been hired to kill Wes (Alfred Enoch), had actually been working for Laurel Castillo’s (Karla Souza) father Jorge Castillo (Jose Zuniga). There are still a lot of questions to be addressed, but some just cannot help but wonder if Laurel has any idea that her own dad killed Wes. Probably not; but knowing the keen and curious Laurel, she will surely find out soon.

Right before Laurel was about to shoot Charles Mahoney (Wilson Bethel), who later on turns out to be Wes’s real father, Dominic (Nicholas Gonzales) stepped in to stop her. Of course, Laurel was surprised to see him and was hesitant in introducing him to Michaela (Aja Naomi King) and Asher (Matt McGorry) as her friend.

Writer Pete Nowalk had a short talk with Entertainment Weekly where he talked about the circumstances supporting Wes’ father as the killer. When asked why he picked Laurel’s father to be the killer, he responded that fans would have to find out for themselves when the next season airs. Fans might wonder if this had been the plan from the beginning, to which Nowalk responded “yes” and added that character was actually made to be Wes’ killer.

When asked if this is part of Laurel’s father wanting to be back in her life, he responded that while such could be the case, it is actually much more complicated. The two of them have gotten in a lot of mess in the past. This can be seen in Laurel’s face when she ran into Dominic.

Laurel has always been one of the smartest of the group and there is absolutely no doubt that she will soon piece the pieces together and discover that her own father killed Wes. How she takes it and how this will affect her relationship with him could be the real issue here. She had been willing to kill Charles when she thought that he was responsible for Wes’ death, but whether she reacts in the same manner when it comes to her own father remains to be seen.

The first and second season of “How to Get Away with Murder” premiered at the end of September while season 3 premiered in the middle of September. Fans could expect the return of the show for its fourth season this September 2017.

"HTGAWM" season 3 ended with its second-best rating for the season, writes TV By The Numbers. It logged a 1.4 percent share in the 18-49 age range, which translates to around 4.92 million viewers.
