A lot of things have surely changed since “The Vampire Diaries” first aired in September 2009. The TV series has hit what critics have labelled as the “Golden Age” as even some of the most popular actors have began appearing. The CW has also evolved past its teeny bopper identity to become a new haven for superheroes and critically acclaimed soap operas. The craze for vampire romance has slowly died down along with “Twilight,” but “The Vampire Diaries” fans stay true.

While that may be the case, it is time for “The Vampire Diaries” to go. It is quite dignified for being the last of its kind but, so far, it has delivered a season that has been entertaining. It will be something to remember for everyone who has been watching it since its first day.

As “TVD” comes to a close , it will be taking fans to a full circle while adding in so me new elements. The show brought to gether its central themes, incorporated new threads and at the same time delivered a new plot. This gives its loyal fanbase something to truly enjoy before it ends for good.

The shine might have worn off over the past few years, but it has to be remembered that there was a time when “The Vampire Diaries” was hitting big conventions in stellar ways, notes Den of Geek. Without such, it might have taken longer for the show to take hold and will go down as one of the better reiterations of modern vampire fiction.

On its penultimate episode, The CW will deliver something that fans of “The Vampire Diaries” will never forget. Pictures have been released of Stefan and Caroline’s wedding on Pop Sugar. While this might have fans gushing, it has to be remembered that things will not be too smooth either. Someone will die very soon, as confirmed in numerous spoilers and interviews. How that plays out remains to be seen.

The final episode of “The Vampire Diaries” will air on March 10 on The CW in the US. It will also air on FOX8 in Australia.
