'Billions' Season 2 Episode 3

Season 2 episode 3 of American TV series “Billions” is set to show more intense friction between characters than in the previous. The episode, titled “Optimal Play,” will highlight the deepening plot of Axe (Damian Lewis) to ruin Chuck’s (Paul Giamatti) profession and life.

A trailer for the upcoming episode shows Axe saying that “breaking him (Chuck) is the only way to beat him.” Axe is seen entering a car and conversing with someone as he plans to find any details in order to exploit Chuck Rhoades. These scenes are indicative signs that Axe has something up his sleeves in bringing Chuck down. Synopsis of episode 3 reveals that Axe is considering buying an NFL franchise and will be finding a new ally. Chuck begins a last ditch case against a banking titan by developing a low-level informant. Meanwhile, Wendy (Maggie Siff) makes a controversial appearance at the Alpha Cup Charity Poker Tournament by accompanying Axe's competitor as his performance coach. Lara meanwhile (Malin Akerman) launches her new business.

The third episode will be directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney. He is known for his works, including “Going Clear,” “American Jihad” and “The Killing Season.” The first episode was directed by indie filmmaker Reed Morano, who won Best Picture at the Independent Spirit Awards. Directors Anna Fleck and Ryan Boden succeeded Morano for the second episode.

Currently, there are six known episodes for season 2 that have been given a fixed title. The last three of season 2 episodes are “The Oath” for episode 4, “Currency” for episode 5 and Indian Four” for episode 6. The release dates of said episodes are March 12, March 19 and March 26 respectively.

The first episode of “Billions” debuted on Jan. 1, 2016 in the US and Jan. 17 in Canada. This was made possible through CraveTV, a video on demand services in the United States and Canada. The show premiered on Jan. 27, 2016 on Stan in Australia.

“Billions” is an American drama series created by Brian Koppleman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It stars the Emmy and Golden Globe awardees Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis. The series revolves around power politics in the world of New York high finance. Season 2 episode 3 of “Billions” is scheduled to be aired on March 5. The series airs every Sunday at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
