The U.S. carrier has reportedly taken $200 off the normal price of two gadgets -- the Note 4 and the Note Edge phablet. This applies to the 2-year contract prices. With the new price cut from AT&T, the on-contract price f the Note Edge has been brought down to $199.99 only.

More interestingly, Note 4 has been listed at almost half that price at $99.99. According to Tech Times, the new discounted prices of the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Note 4 with AT&T will make it easier for users to be able to acquire these high-end devices.

The original price of these devices was $299.99 for the Galaxy Note 4 and $399.99 for Galaxy Note Edge before the $200 discount was announced. Upon its release sometimes last year November, the Galaxy Note Edge was tagged as one of the most expensive smartphones ever to be offered by Samsung in U.S.

At its release last year, Galaxy Note Edge sold at $399.99 on contract and this is still the price customers would buy it under the Verizon network. It is even more expensive when customers buy it under Sprint where it sells at $429.99.

Probably after the AT&T slush of the prices, the other carriers may too bring down their prices. However, this is only a speculation and users just have to wait to see what happens.

One thing that customers need to note is that the $200 discount offered on purchase of the two devices is not a promotional offer that runs for a limited time. It will require customers to have a two-year contract with AT&T.

The discounted price comes after a recent announcement by Samsung to provide its customers with an unbeatable discount in form of rebate of $200 when they buy the devices from AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. It is speculated that Samsung may be doing this to clear the inventory of these devices to pave way for the coming Galaxy Note 5.

The South Korean tech giant is also expected to launch a large sized version of the Galaxy S6 Edge with the moniker Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. As of this writing, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus smartphones have been officially confirmed by Samsung.
