The Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy Note 5 Edge are predicted as successor models for the last year’s Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. Usually, Samsung is known for releasing its Note series phablets in the month of September every year. Fresh rumours claim that the South Korean may release the Note 5 duos earlier than the expected release period.

Daum, a news portal from Korea, has reported that Samsung may release the Note 5 and the Note 5 Edge as early as August, states the International Business Times. However, there is no confirmation from Samsung on the purported release date. Speculations are also rife on the September release date because the company is known for showcasing the Note series handset through the IFA tech expo event that is usually held in September.

As far as the specs of the Note 4 are concerned, the Tech Times report claims say that both Note 5 models will be supporting UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The Note 5 is expected to feature a 5.9-inch display with support for 762 ppi pixel density. The Note 5 Edge is predicted to house a dual-edge screen on a screen size of 5.78-inch. It is rumoured to support a pixel count of 748 ppi.

When it comes to the processor of the device, there are conflicting rumours that suggest that the upcoming Note 5 will either feature the Snapdragon 810 or the Exynos 7420 chipset, states the IBTimes report. On the other side, Recode’s report suggests that the Note 5 will be powered by the forthcoming Snapdragon 820 that is built with 14 nm FinFET processing technology.

Unlike the predecessor Galaxy S models, the Samsung Galaxy S6 does not come with an important feature of microSD card slot. On the Note 5, Samsung is rumoured to introduce high-density EPOP memory that is nothing but a new chip type that includes a combo of 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB of storage along with a controller, states Know Your Mobile. This will help in building the Note 5 with slimmer chassis.
