For its last salvo this week, “Days Of Our Lives” (“DOOL”) centres on a joyful family reunion that is overshadowed by a controversy and a looming threat. On Friday, Victor (John Aniston) is unable to participate in the celebration of Tate’s comeback – he’s taken into custody for questioning. He maintains that he has nothing to do with the kidnapping, and tells the police to investigate his brother instead.

Meanwhile, Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) has just declared that he’ll do everything to save Victor. Fans wonder whether his intentions are sincere, or if he’s just doing it to win over Nicole (Arianne Zucker). Other “Days Of Our Lives” cast members who will figure prominently on the Aug.26 installment include Brady (Eric Martsolf), Theresa (Jen Lilley), Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin).

"Days Of Our Lives" soap recap

On Thursday, Jennifer was horrified to find Kayla and Belle at the motel. Realising she had spent the night drinking and taking pills, Jennifer had a meltdown. Kayla comforted her and assured her they’re there to help her recover from this minor setback.

Elsewhere, Ciara professed her love for Chad, but she was disheartened to hear that Chad can't reciprocate her feelings. “I don't love you,” he simply said. She was reduced to tears and ran off. At home, she tried to contact Claire so she could confide in on her, but her friend didn’t answer. She went over to Claire’s house and found herself in another awkward spot when she walked in on Claire and Theo kissing. Ciara left, followed by Theo. The two bumped into each other at the park. Ciara wondered whether he and Claire are in a relationship. He said no and said that the kiss “just happened.” He also assured Ciara that he’s just there if she wanted to talk.
