With “Clash of Clans” being such a hit to both Android and iOS platforms, developer Supercell is looking to once again wow players with a new title based on the popular city-building sim. The new game is unlike “Clash of Clans” as it looks to test the strategic skills of players even more with a card game-like title.

Supercell’s next title is named “Clash Royale,” and it features units and themes from “Clash of Clans” so it is a must-play for fans of the city-building sim. Unlike “Clash of Clans,” “Clash Royale” pits two players in a head-to-head battle in real-time. However, like “Clash of Clans,” players are tasked to send down units to the opposing players side while defending their own using spells, defenses and other units.

To begin, players are tasked to build a Battle Deck before heading out to battle. This is a similar feature found in other virtual card games like “Hearthstone.” Players will see characters from “Clash of Clans” in “Clash Royale” but they will see new faces as well. As for new characters, players will see the likes of princes, knights and even baby dragons. Like “Clash of Clans,” players can form clans with others as well.

Supercell launched “Clash Royale” quietly and it is currently out on soft launch for the iOS. It’s available in New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland. The developer is yet to say when the game will hit other regions and Android devices, but players should expect it soon as “Clash of Clans” is a very popular title globally.

The video below shows how “Clash Royale” is played. Gameplay-wise, it’s like a tower defense as a player’s main goal is to destroy the opposing players’ towers and take down their king while defending their own.
