Various smartphone OEMs are expected to release Android 6.0 Marshmallow update from the beginning of this year. An official list of devices across different brands has surfaced that has revealed which devices will be given priority to receive Android 6.0 upgrade.

GSM Arena has revealed a list that shows which devices will be given priority from the beginning of this year to receive Android Marshmallow upgrade:

Samsung

The Android 6.0 upgrade will first arrive for Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2. As far as devices from previous year are concerned, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A7 will also receive Android 6.0 update from the start of 2016.

Sony

Sony is expected to begin rolling out Android 6.0 firmware upgrades for Xperia Z5 series smartphones first. The phones include Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5. The update will also be released for Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M5 and Xperia M4 Aqua.

The Japanese tech giant is also slated to release Android 6.0 update for older devices like Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3V, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet and Xperia Z Ultra GPE from beginning of this year.

LG

The Android 6.0 upgrade will be hitting major LG devices from the start of 2016. The firmware upgrade will be widely available for smartphones like LG V10, LG G4, LG G Flex 2, LG G4 Stylo and LG G3.

HTC

The first batch of devices from HTC that will be getting the latest Android version include HTC One M9, HTC One E9, HTC One M9 +, HTC One E9+, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC One ME and HTC Desire 826.

Some of the devices like HTC One M8, HTC One M8 Eye, HTC One E8, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816 that were released in 2014 will also be upgraded to Android M from the beginning of 2016.

Motorola

Motorola devices from 2015 such as Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G, Droid Turbo 2 and Maxx 2 are scheduled to get upgraded to Android M first. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will also come to 2014 Motorola devices like Moto X Pure Edition, Droid Turbo, Moto Maxx Moto Turbo, Moto G and Moto G 4G.
