Zombie films have been coming out from everywhere nowadays and there's even a television series out now. Variations in the genre have also been in motion, but there's nothing like a good old Zombie flick to wake you up.

There is a shock factor but the amusement you find in watching these types of films are unlike any other. Let's list down some of the not so known films in the genre in today's 'Zombie Fest.'

1. Versus (2000)

An entertaining movie in the perpetually wacky Asian zombie movie oeuvre, it's weird characters paired with martial arts mayhem is what gave this film a spot on the list. A group of gangsters dump bodies of those they've 'bumped off' in the woods not knowing that the woods have the power to resurrect the dead. This oddball film by director Ryuhei Kitamura really kicked some zombie ass.

2. Plaga Zombie (1997)

Scene from the movie 'Plaga Zombie'

An Argentine horror film not a lot of people know of. It was made with a budget of around $120 and filmed with a handheld camcorder. It's got slapstick comedy, splatter gore and high volume energy that'll leave the audience in disbelief.

3. Evil (2005)

Zombie's have been awakened from their eternal sleep during an unfortunate event in a cave and they begin to tear up the city of Athens in a bloody rampage. There's plenty of gore, blood splattering, gut wrenching scenes much to the delight of Zombiephiles. With horrible acting and amateurish production, we're surprised that this film has the intensity and charm that only a director who believes in his work can achieve.

4. Fido (2006)

In an alternate universe where radiation has turned the dead into zombies a zombie war happened which resulted in the humans being the victor and the zombies made to do slave labor. An original story by Dennis Heaton, which is somewhat reminiscent of "Shaun of the Dead,' 'Fido' gained critical acclaim and was given a resounding 'Two Thumbs Up.'

5. Dead and Buried (1981)

A different take on the Zombie genre, the film takes place in small town populated by zombies who seem like normal citizens except for the desire to tear apart any and all visitors. A great variation to the zombie genre.

6. Dead Snow (2009)

Zombie Nazi's in a scene from the zombie hit 'Dead Snow'

Zombie Nazi soldiers attacking a group of skiers, delivering non-stop gore and blood with a twisted sense of humor made this film one of the best Zombie flicks that came out of the U.S.A.
