A controversial video and photos were scattered online through Germany based news websites throughout the night showing the most powerful woman in Europe, Angela Merkel, served by a 21-year-old named Martin while attending the Christian Democratic Union meeting at Demmin, northeast of Germany, last week.

The young waiter was unlucky as he accidentally spilled beer on Merkel's neck and black coat. He was about to put a tall glass of beer on her table when he lost his balance causing the tray to slip and all four glasses of beer poured down on the neck of the chancellor and at her back.

All his co-waiters were in shock and both hurriedly and worriedly cleaned up Merkel as fast as they could. They also immediately offered her a dry coat. Merkel continued to be calm despite the incident and chose to enjoy the beer.

Bild tabloid interviewed the waiter, who said he was up to know reliving the unpleasant episode. According to him, one of his colleagues was supposed to serve the beer to the chancellor. But the assigned waitress was very anxious and requested me to bring the beer for her.

While he was serving, someone accidentally had pushed him from behind, which was the reason why he lost his balance.

The waiter admitted that he shouted really loud at his leader causing the situation to get intense. He, however, felt relieved when the chancellor did not make any negative reactions. Instead, she turned around, smiled at him and continued having her beer.

This is not the only controversial incident, which was spread out online, that Markel was involved in. In 2006, a YouTube hit demonstrated her awkward reaction to a shoulder rub from the former US President George W. Bush.
