The Xiaomi MiPad faced battery issues last year and now the Mi Pad 2 is reporting similar battery issues as several users complained about an annoying black screen even after several hours of charging the phone.

When the battery reaches a zero level and users start recharging it again, the battery refuses to charge up. Trying to reboot the phone into fastboot mode or recovery mode does not help either and consumers continue to face issues with the battery. According to some reports, the device may boot sometimes and the phone may function only for a very short time, reports Android Headlines.

A junior member posted a complaint on the MIUI public forum in April last year, mentioning the issue he was facing with his MiPad, the predecessor to the MiPad 2. He wrote that when his tablet ran out of battery power, he decided to charge it. However, after several hours of charging its battery, the device’s screen showed a red blinking line. The rest of the screen remained black and there was no battery image or the usual Mi logo showing on the screen.

Last December, there was a similar complaint on the MIUI public forum where a user wrote that he failed to charge his new MiPad 2 once its battery ran out of power. Several other users also reported similar problems regarding the tablet’s battery on the public platform, except for a user who suggested a solution. He wrote that the tablet should be plugged to a charger. After charging for an hour, one should hard press the reset volume up and power buttons at the same time for about 20 seconds and only then the device’s battery will come alive once more.

According to CNET, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is an iPad lookalike and comes packed with a host of innovative features. Running on Windows 10, the tablet uses a quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor inside. The device is priced at US$155 (approx. AU$220).
