New leaks about Windows 9 or windows Threshold suggests that Microsoft is trying to improve scaling for high resolution displays. for now, most devices have full HD displays, which seems to be the standard. However, most devices having 4K resolutions seems to be affordable and can be assumed to become the standard. Microsoft seems to be planning to provide better.

The tech preview for Windows 9 could include bigger icons and other elements intended to support not only 4K, but for 8K resolution displays as well, according to PCPortal via Neowin. The leaked images show the new File Explorer icon having a flat design and some checkbox for apps that have higher resolution support of up to 240 DPI.

Surface Pro 3 users might find its resolution to be poor in scaling or even PC users might have encountered a time when something has to be done just to make some apps look better on desktops. Microsoft tried to address this issue, that can be seen on the improvements that was done for Windows 8.1, where it displays with high resolution. However, it still needs a lot of improvement, according to Neowin. Dell recently showed a 5K monitor that is not made for regular consumers; instead, it is made for businesses.

Windows 9 or Windows Threshold is expected to be launched in its final form in the spring of 2015. There will be a preview so that users could try out the new OS, but users will need to have software updates downloadede automatically each month.There will be changes expected from the upcoming OS that could include the Metro UI, Windows Defender, OneDrive and improved Windows activation. Cortana is elso expected to be incorporated on Windows 9. A unified notification center to make it more easy for users to see everyrthing at a glance and to go to apps easily as well.

Microsoft is expected to hold a launcfhing event where the company is also expected to release the public version of the tech preview on September 30 or quite sometime after it will be released to its select partners, developers and tech enthusiasts. During the said event, everyone will know more about Windows 9 and it will certainly be great to see the new OS with improved scaling and higher resolution support of up to 8K.
