Windows 9 Codenamed 'Threshold' Will Be Released in April 2015

Microsoft's Windows 9 which is reportedly codenamed as "Threshold" will be released in April 2015. The newest version of Microsoft's operating system (OS) after its Windows 8.1 version is said to be a complete Windows update and might have the Start menu available as an option as well as allow Metro apps to run on the desktop.
According to ZDNet, there could be three primary stock keeping units (SKU) such as a traditional/PC SKU, a traditional enterprise SKU and a "modern" consumer SKU in the Windows 9 OS.
The traditional/PC SKU is predicted to include a desktop and it might be customizable. The "modern" consumer SKU would be for ARM-based Windows tablets/PCs, Windows Phones, phablets and some tablets. The traditional enterprise SKU might have a device management, group policy support, and Win32 apps via a Desktop environment. This might end up being for volume licensees only.
Paul Thurrott of Supersite for Windows claims that Microsoft is expecting to deliver three milestone releases of the Windows 9 or the "Threshold" OS before its final release. Plus, it might update Windows' Metro design language to make it work better than before.
These might still change by the time the Microsoft Windows 9 codenamed "Threshold" OS is released in April 2015, but it will definitely be a huge improvement over the Windows 8 and the Windows 8.1 OS versions.
"For the next release there's all kinds of things we've already identified that are going be quite challenging but at the same time the user is going to get a tremendous boost forward," said Windows power management fundamentals team leader Bruce Worthington in a report from Tech Radar.
Stay tuned for the release of Microsoft's Windows 9 codenamed "Threshold" in April 2015. More updates about Microsoft's Windows 9 "Threshold" operating system (OS) will surely be heard of in the coming days. Also, make sure to watch out for the Microsoft BUILD Developer Conference which will be held from April 2-4, 2014 at The Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. According to Thurrott, Microsoft will further discuss Windows 9 at the said event as well as the Windows Phone and the Xbox.
