The conflict between Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and his Ripper mother, Lily (Annie Wersching), will further heighten in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, episode 4 titled “I Carry Your Heart with Me” because of Heretic Oscar (Tim Kang). More secrets and backstories are also expected to unfold in the next episode starting with the mysterious character Julian (Todd Lasance) introduced in the new Season’s third episode.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 spoilers.

In “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, episode 3 titled “Never Let Me Go,” Damon has located and captured Lily’s Heretic son Oscar with the help of best friends Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) and Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis). Damon temporarily gained the upper hand in his fight with Lily when he used Oscar in order to have Elena Gilbert’s body back.

However, the synopsis of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, episode 4 in a Carter Matt report teases that Damon will be scrambling for a “Plan B” due to unexpected turn of events. Heretic Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore) killed Oscar in the previous episode because he knows the location of Julian.

The synopsis further teased that Enzo (Michael Malarkey) thinks Valerie has a secret so the Augustine vampire embarks on a mission to find out what the Heretics is hiding. Valerie’s secret could be something with her past that involves Julian, whom she described as the devil.

“I can’t let Lily bring him back,” Valerie said to Oscar before she killed him in the ending scene of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, episode 3. Meanwhile, Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Caroline Forbes (Candice King) will be forced to spend the night at the Heaven & Hell ball at Whitmore College.

The synopsis teased that the fallout of Damon’s plans against Lily will catch the unwanted attention of Heretics Mary Louise (Teressa Liane) and Nora (Scarlett Byrne) so Stefan and Caroline are set to distract Lily’s minions. The Stefan-Caroline or “Steroline” fans can expect some tender moments between the two in the new episode even though they will be busy distracting the Heretics at the college ball.

As for the Phoenix stone storyline, the new episode’s synopsis teases that Bonnie and Alaric will work on a plan they set up but the outcome leaves their worlds turned upside down. “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 returns with episode 4 titled “I Carry Your Heart with Me” on Thursday night, Oct. 29, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
