Twitter, the microblogging site, has rolled out a new feature that would help users find people of similar interests. The service, called "Suggestions for You", uses algorithms to determine people to suggest. It considers numerous factors and then makes suggestions on people you may want to follow.

"Today we're beginning to roll out a simple, but powerful new feature to help address that -- 'Suggestions for You'. The algorithms in this feature, built by our user relevance team, suggest people you don't currently follow that you may find interesting. The suggestions are based on several factors, including people you follow and the people they follow," the Web site said.

"Suggestions for You" can be accessed in Twitter's Find People section. The Web page contains the "Suggestions for You" tab, which displays users chosen by the Twitter algorithm. The Web site also lists suggestions when you visit another users' profile in the new "Who to follow" area. Also, when users follow someone, the Website will suggest other users who may be similar.

The feature had been under testing a few months ago. The Web site says 'Suggestion for You' will available for developers through the API.
