"Titanfall" players may have been surprised to find the CTF and Pilot Hunter removed from their playlist on the PC version of the game.

Respawn Entertainment has explained the reason for removing the two modes, and it seems to boil down to the lack of demand and efficiency for other players.

"We have an amazing and large PC audience with the vast majority of users predominantly playing Attrition and Hardpoints game modes. CTF and Pilot Hunter have not been widely used modes on the PC version," said the developer in the official "Titanfall" web site.

"Players trying to access these modes had overlong wait times to find other users and it was making for a poor experience."

This is in reference to the matching system that "Titanfall" operates under and the need to roll out quality content to fans. The developer has also promised that, while the team will continue to track down which playlists are being ignored by players, they will also be adding new ones on both platforms.

Respawn Entertainment is still rotating Pilot Hunter and CTF in future playlists, and modes on Private Matches have also been spared being taken out.

"We're currently working on those new modes and updates and can't wait to share the details with you," said Respawn. "Our goal is to have a wide variety of playlists that are popular and changing."

New Companion App for Titanfall Already Out

Straight from the Android, iOS and Windows Phone stores, the "Titanfall" Companion App follows the growing trend of having accompanying apps go with console and PC games.

"The 'Titanfall' Companion App is now available for download! Track your personal player states, control a live interactive mini map and learn more about 'Titanfall' in one application," said the developer at the official "Titanfall" Web site.

The companion app has a number of features, like the Intel section, which is your go-to guide for information regarding the in-game components. The Intel section is further divided into five areas. You have the Universe to learn all about every aspect, from planet down to the factions in "Titanfall."

Levels give you an overview of the "Titanfall" Multiplayer Campaign and the Strategy Guide. Armory details the weapons and provides you with a 3D layout of both the pilots and the titans. Game Modes will detail the differences per mode and the Rules of Play. There's also a section on Help Controls for controller layout.

Players can also check their stats, and the personal statistics list is fairly complete, giving you a tally of your total kills, time spent playing and more. A Mini Map section also allows you to play with either a live or an interactive version of the current in-game map. You can adjust the view on the mini map and experiment with the Filter option and more map information to give you an edge, as it is only available in the "Titanfall" Companion App.
