Taylor Swift took to Tumblr on Sunday to reach out and offer words of comfort to a fan who was grieving her late mother. The singer, who is known to personally reply to fan messages, replied to Kaileen’s message about this particular Mother’s Day being a difficult one, admitting that losing her own mother was her “worst fear.”

Kaileen, who introduced herself as “iced coffee girl,” addressed the 25-year-old musician in a Tumblr message and asked for a hug. “Today is Mother’s Day, a day most people spend with their mothers thanking them for everything they do. But, for me, I can’t spend this day with my mom because she’s in heaven,” she wrote. She went on to share that her mom passed away in January and that a “piece of my heart left with her.”

While she felt empty for a while, Kaileen revealed that Taylor and her songs helped her get through the pain of what seemed to be the “hardest thing in the world” for her. She added that having the “Shake It Off” hit maker by her side will help her get through anything and ended her message telling Taylor that she loved her.

The letter seemed to have pulled on Taylor’s heart strings, as she took the time to respond and say that she was sorry that Kaileen could not spend the day with her mom. “You’ve lived through my worst fear,” the singer wrote, adding that it was okay not to feel normal that day. Taylor offered her more encouragement, saying that she admired her ability to show a “sweet disposition” despite the hardships and finally sent her a “hug.”

Last month, the country turned pop singer also took to Tumblr to share an emotional letter to her fans wherein she revealed that her mother Andrea was diagnosed with cancer. According to E! News, Taylor admitted that she wanted to keep her mom’s battle private, not even revealing what kind of cancer she had, but her mom thought it was important that they know why she won’t be accompanying her daughter in all of her upcoming shows.

Taylor is known to share big events that happen to her with her fans because she believed that it was a way of letting them know that she wanted them to be a part of her life. She often gives away personal details about her through a song or photo, Extra TV stated.
