‘Suicide Squad': Jared Leto Shares Video Teasing His Version Of The Joker

There have been speculations of The Joker’s version in “Suicide Squad” being based on “The Dark Knight: Returns” character. While this has yet to be confirmed, Jared Leto, who plays the villain, has taken it upon himself to tease fans of his character’s version with a video posted on social media.
Jared Leto shared a short video of himself on his Snapchat page, which according to Mirror UK is a “creepy” tease to his version of The Joker in “Suicide Squad.” In the video, the actor and 30 Seconds To Mars frontman is basically just spinning around as he points the camera at himself for a headshot angle. Nearing the end of the clip, Jared opens his mouth as if to emit a silent growl. However, what’s interesting is the background music being played while the actor spins around.
The music on the background is the soundtrack to “The Dark Knight Returns” titled “See You In Hell.” Somehow Jared Leto’s video gives credence to those speculations of his character’s version in “Suicide Squad” being based on the “Dark Knight Returns.”
Sources for “Suicide Squad” scoopster Umberto Gonzalez also said Jared Leto’s take on The Joker will be from “The Dark Knight Returns.” Gonzales said on his Instagram page that this version of The Joker may already be scarred but he still possesses a lean and muscular body. It’s believed Jared Leto is putting on weight to better channel his character in the film.
“The Dark Knight Returns” version of The Joker in “Suicide Squad” will reportedly also have green hair and bleached skin. Jared Leto’s current platinum blonde hair is said to be in preparation for his character’s hair colour. The actor’s personal hairstylist, Chase Kusero, once teased Leto’s hair colour through his Instagram post. The photo posted by DC Movies Facebook page was captioned, “Jared Leto's official hairstylist, Chase Kusero posted this to Instagram today. #skwad.” According to IGN, green dye is best suited with the actor’s blond hair compared with his usual brown-coloured hair.
Jared Leto also recently teased his Joker voice for “Suicide Squad” during his band’s concert in Russia. From the video below, the actor/singer could be heard letting out a creepy voice as he says, “really crazy.”
