There may not be a lot of leaked details on “Stranger Things” season 2 going around, but Netflix has confirmed an additional three characters for the series. The roles of Linnea Berthelsen, Sean Astin ("Lord Of The Rings") and Paul Reiser ("Whiplash") are expected to add to the mystery and overall charm of the show.

Berthelsen is a Danish actress who plays the role of Roman. Her official character description illustrates her as “an emotionally damaged, magnetic young woman who suffered a great loss as a child. Although she does not live in Hawkins, she is mysteriously connected to the supernatural events at the lab.” As Entertainment Weekly noted, Berthelsen’s character reads a lot like an older Eleven.

Austin’s character, named Bob Newby, is described as a little more average. Newby knows Joyce and Hopper, played by Winona Ryder and David Harbour respectively, from high school and currently manages Hawkins RadioShack. His actual role in the story was not provided, but it is estimated that his job will somehow help the “Stranger Things” kids, who more often than not have a gadget with them.

Meanwhile, Reiser’s Dr. Owens is described as a “a high-ranking member within the Department of Energy on a ‘clean-up’ assignment, tasked with containing the events of last year.” What exactly happened to Dr. Brenner, portrayed by Matthew Modine, in season 1 of “Stranger Things” is still unclear, so it is possible that Dr. Owens will stir up some trouble for Hawkins-residents and non-residents alike.

It was also earlier confirmed that Dacre Montgomery (“Power Rangers”) and Sadie Sink (“Blue Bloods”) will play a role in the upcoming season. The two play a pair of mysterious siblings, who round up the younger half of the cast.

Montgomery, 21, will play the role of Billy, a egotistic bad boy. However, his pride and courage is likely to be his downfall as he is also described as aggressive and unpredictable. Meanwhile, 14-year-old Sink will portray the role of Billy’s younger sister, Max. Much like Billy, Max has a tough exterior, but is said to have a complicated past.

"Stranger Things" season 2 is expected to return to Netflix within the first half of 2017.
