A lot has been said about the possibility of Force Ghosts being featured in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” But, most of the speculation is focused on Master Yoda, Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. A new theory looks at the possibility of Qui-Gon Jinn being featured in the film.

[Spoiler alert]

Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn) is reportedly keen on returning to the franchise. The actor has already lent his voice for his character in the animation series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” There has been no official confirmation so far that the actor will be back in the next film.

In a new video posted on YouTube, Mike Zeroh points out that Neeson was spotted on the set of the film, leading to some speculation that he will be reprising his role. But, was he there to film a scene or was he just visiting the set of a movie franchise he loves?

The actor was last seen in “The Phantom Menace,” in which he was killed, and there was a mention of him as a Force Ghost in “Revenge of the Sith.” If the actor is reprising his role, Mike believes that a brief 7 seconds appearance would be enough.

In his theory, Mike says that the Force Ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn could be seen interacting with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). The scene could be used to tease some details about Luke’s life after “Return of the Jedi.”

Qui-Gon could welcome Luke with a single sentence like “Welcome, son of Skywalker” and the scene could then shift to something else. But, will the producers introduce the old Jedi master without Master Yoda or Obi-Wan?

There were a lot of reports about the possibility of a Master Yoda’s Force Ghost in “The Force Awakens,” which did not happen. Will “Star Wars: Episode 8” be any different?
