After a lot of casting rumours, it appears that "Star Wars: Episode 7" may have already chosen its female lead. It has been widely speculated that there will be a leading female who has already been cast, but it is still unknown who the character and actress will be.

"I think the big news about Episode VII casting will be the female lead, though folk[s] might not realise it until after they see the film," reported Brendon Connelly of BleedingCool. "If everything we're hearing is true, she's already been cast too, so I wouldn't be surprised if word sneaks out pretty soon," he added.

According to previous reports about casting rumours, the auditions are ongoing, and one of the available leading roles is Princess Leia. Rumour also has it that Carrie Fisher would reprise this role in the seventh installment of the franchise, but it is still unknown how major her part on this film will be. Given that Fisher will play the character, it is now speculated that the rumoured role is possibly a younger version of the princess or maybe a daughter of Han Solo and Leia.

It has also been rumoured that Jack Reynor ("Transformers: Age of Extinction") would be part of "Star Wars: Episode 7," but a spokesperson confirmed that there is no truth to this. "Jack is not taking on a role in the latest Star Wars film," the spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, both Gary Oldman and Benedict Cumberbatch have roles in the movie. Oldman and Cumberbatch were initially pursued for the same character but both of them are reportedly involved despite changes made to the script.

"Star Wars" fans are also excited about the life-sized Millennium Falcon that was built in Pinewood Studios lot in the UK. Though it is still uncertain how much the Millennium Falcon will be featured in this new film, many insiders are still pleased that Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will appear in the film.

Finally, the LucasFilm Web site has also been updated in the last few days, and a new image of what looks like a behind-the-scenes preparation for the film was also posted. The photo shows people in a meeting with some of the design work that might just be featured in the movie behind them. "Star Wars: Episode 7" is scheduled to hit the cinemas on Dec 18, 2015.
