The Countess of Wessex will be hosting a ‘Doctor Who’ party on its 50th anniversary. The party will be held at Buckingham Palace, sources say.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 48 has been a fan of ‘Doctor Who’ since she was small. Reports say that the countess’ party will include Time Lords from the past, present, and future.

According to sources, the party will be on November 18, days before the November 23rd anniversary of the sci-fi series.

A senior courtier, according to Express, said, “It is unusual for a television series to be accorded this kind of recognition from the Royal family, but "Doctor Who" has become – like James Bond – a great British institution and so it seems right to give it a bit of a pat on the head.”

Time Lords like Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and David Tennant are said to attend the party on the 18th. The BBC will be airing a special episode on the 23rd of November titled “The Day of the Doctor.”

It is not just the Countess of Wessex who likes the show, sources say. In early 2013, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla went to the studios of "Doctor Who" while they were touring Wales.

Prince Charles impersonated a Dalek during this visit with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. The prince said, “exterminate” over a microphone resulting to laughter among the staff.

After his summer visit to the "Doctor Who" set, rumours about Prince Charles doing a cameo appearance in the much-loved BBC series started swirling.

If the Prince of Wales appeared in the show, it will definitely make the Countess of Wessex very jealous, sources say.

Dubbed as the Queen’s favourite daughter-in-law, the Countess of Wessex is also considered by observers as the most regal as compared to other royal wives.

Married to Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex in 1999, Sophi Rhys-Jones worked in public relations until she decided to become a fulltime royal in the year 2002. Her children include James, Viscount Severn, and daughter Lady Louise Windsor.

Sophie met her prince in 1993. They were engaged by January 1999 and married in June that year at Windsor Castle.
