Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova has beaten Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in a dogfight at the Qatar WTA Open Tuesday with 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory.

The Agence France Presse said that it was a slow start for Hantuchova, describing her appearing as though she would take another tumble during the first forty minutes of the game.

Luck was with the Slovakian ace however, since her nemesis failed to recognize that she was struggling at the first hurdle and Azarenka was visibly committing errors in the second set that was easy for Hantuchova to read.

Hantuchova did read Azarenka’s moves and the Azarenka could not turn things around once Hantuchova ‘found her footing’ which the AFP noted, when happened, there was no stopping the Slovakian ace, allowing her to crush Azarenka in the next two sets.

"It was a tough match today," Hantuchova was quoted as saying by the AFP. "I knew I had the confidence and the experience to come back even after losing the first set."

Hantuchova’s win has made Azarenka the second seeded player to be kicked out of Doha tour, said AFP. Azarenka followed sixth seeded Agineszka Radwanska of Poland when crushed by Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic on Monday.

Hantuchova noted AFP, won her fourth WTA title at the Pattaya Open earlier this month.
