It's a great year for Selena as everyone saw her transform from a Disney teen to a Hollywood star. Now, Glamour picks her as their Woman of the Year.

It seems like the year is getting better as it ends for Selena Gomez as she was hailed Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year. Selena graces the cover of the magazine for its December issue. Surrounded by balloons, she was wearing a cream colored bustier gown with bright red lipstick.

"Woman of the Year - I didn't even know I was a woman! I'm very honored... and it's a very, very big deal to me," Gomez told the magazine. "I'm going to hold it close to my heart," Selena told the magazine.

The magazine picked Gomez not only for her works as a young star but as well as what she does off cam. Selena is UNICEF's youngest ambassador and also serves the same role in Ryan Seacrest's Foundation. Her job entails creating programs for pediatric hospitals for seriously injured children.

"She's giving back to people who need help, because of her own life experience," Taylor Swift, a close friend of Selena, told Glamour. "She's the exception to so many rules."

Meanwhile, Selena also opened up about her friendship with the Taylor and revealed that their relationship as friends is normal like others.

"Taylor's amazing. She's so smart and sweet and humble - and she's way more successful than I am! So when I see her after everything she's been through and she just wants to go home and bake cookies with me. That, to me, is awesome," Selena said.

Yet her relationship with the country singer is just one topic that was discussed. She also opened up about her teen heartthrob boyfriend, Justin Bieber and the way she feels about the millions of young girls crushing on him.

"I adore his fans. I would never, ever want to disrespect them. You know, I get it: I was obsessed with Jesse McCartney growing up! He was my world. My high school crush. So I respect it, and if anything, I admire it," Gomez said.
