The Esquire editors have had their say. They have chosen American actress Scarlett Johansson as 2013's sexiest woman alive. Notably, Scarlett is the only woman to bag the title twice. She was first awarded the title in 2006.

In her interview with the Esquire magazine, the 28-year-old actress who rose to stardom with the 2001 cult film Ghost World, touched upon her love life saying it was something like she had never experienced in the past.

Scarlett was previously married to Ryan Reynolds. The two split in 2010 after two years of marriage.

Now, the 28-year-old actress confirmed she is engaged to French advertising executive Romain Dauriac, and enjoys that her fiancé is protective of her.

"You're never free of the irrational, so you might as well - Oh, I don't know. Like, it's OK to be jealous, for example, which people think is irrational. To let yourself care that much that the emotion might hurt you a little," Scarlett said.

"Look, I'm with a Frenchman. I think jealousy comes with the territory. But I'd rather be with someone who's a little jealous than someone who's never jealous."

"There's something a little dead fish about them. A little bit depressing. It may not make sense, but you need to feel it a little. I know, irrational, right?"

"I didn't think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only," she explained.

"I think maybe in the past I didn't have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn't capable of it or caring that much."

Interestingly, in a May 2013 interview to Marie Claire magazine, speaking of her 2010 split with Ryan, Scarlett said she looked for a "kind of carefree rapport" with her partner.

"I don't like jealous behaviour," she had told Marie Claire.

"I don't mind the occasional check-in, but when somebody is passive-aggressively jealous, it's really unattractive because it shows a sort of insecurity. ... Oh, controlling behaviour is awful. Nobody's going to say they love that!" she said.

"I've had a fair amount of time to process the experience and move forward," she told Marie Claire.

Now, we know what she meant.
