'Scandal' Season 4 Spoilers: Return Date, What To Expect In Episode 10
"Scandal" Season 4 will be returning with the remaining episodes on Jan. 29, 2015. In the winter-season finale, Olivia Pope disappeared again. This time, however, she did not get on a plane to head to an undisclosed location, with Jake. The vice president Andrew Nichols had a hand in her disappearance -- as he saw Olivia as Fitz's biggest weakness -- to force the President to declare war on West Angola. To save Olivia, Fitz has two choices, either to go to war with West Angola or enlist the help of Jake, Abby, Quinn and Huck to find Olivia. It is going to "really test" him in episode 10 of "Scandal" Season 4.
Tony Goldwyn, who plays Fitz in "Scandal," said to TV Guide that he does not have a clue about Olivia's whereabouts. He, however, ruled out the possibility of her being on an Island. "... It's definitely all hands on deck to find her [when the show returns], but I can't tell you where we leave here. That's a really great surprise," the actor said.
According to TV Guide, the disappearance of Olivia is going to test him and it has the potential to "destroy Fitz again." There is a limit to what a make can take and according to Goldwyn, "the stakes are unbelievably high and I can say that it will be scary."
Goldwyn revealed that Fitz's first move will be to work with Jake to find Olivia, as he is the person who his character trusts and can rely on. He also said that Fitz may end up taking help from Rowan to find Olivia. There are speculations that Rowan may have planned and executed Olivia's disappearance. Goldwyn, who directed the mid-season finale of "Scandal" Season 4, does not think that it will be as simple as that. The actor said that there may be some "major power players" who are supporting Andrew. Also, he said that Andrew and Elizabeth North may be part of some "right-wing Republican plot to take down Fitz."
Speaking about the upcoming episodes, the actor told TV Guide, "... do you sacrifice the person you love [Olivia] for the benefit of the greater good? That's the territory we're headed into in the second half of the season. It's this very big, impossible choice. It's going to get even messier as if it's not messy now."
