Owners of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 can soon upgrade their devices to the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS as the firmware of the said software was spotted earlier online.

According to the reports, the firmware is not an official OS update that was released by Samsung, which means that it is mostly a work in progress Jelly Bean 4.2.2 build and the final build will be released soon.

Samsung Galaxy note 8.0 was released early this year at the Mobile World Congress. The device runs with the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. However, it seems like Samsung is working hard on releasing the latest build of Jelly Bean and update all their latest devices.

Impatient users who want to see how the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS works with their tablets can easily flash the leaked file using ODIN. This news was reported by Samsung-centric tech website SamMobile.

The firmware zip file measures 1241.8 MB in size and it should take a while before completion. Also, note that since this is a leaked file, then you can only upgrade your device using the Odin program to flash the files comprised within the zip file.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 features a 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU, 5MP camera, Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX interface, 8 inch display, S Pen functions. This is the tablet with the model number N5110, which means that the N5100 model cannot be updated with this leaked firmware.
