At this point in time, it can be hard to predict the winner in the battle between Samsung Galaxy Gear vs Apple iWatch, but still many are pondering how Apple will beat up to their number one contender.

In terms of release date, the Galaxy Gear has been released ahead of the iWatch giving it an edge with consumers. They showed off their wearable device during the Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 along with their other products. It has a Super AMOLED display at 1.63 inches and a resolution of 320x320. As compared with its rumoured mock-ups, the watch did not turn out as sleek as it was expected to be but it is certainly designed highly. It is up for a cost of $299. It is also made available in colours of rose gold, jet black and orange.

As for its technical specs, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch has a weight of 2.6 ounces and 4GB internal memory along with 512MB for its RAM. It is set to work as a partner for other Samsung smartphones and connect through wireless Bluetooth. It can let you answer phones, snap some pics and even check your email inbox. It also has apps!

On the other hand, the Apple iWatch rumour roundup include that of the smartwatch having a 1.5 inch display that may also be set in curved design. There are also suggestions that it will have the Corning Willow Glass for added protection. Other speculations for the iWatch features also include NFC connectivity and access to the usual Apple system like Siri, iCloud and also iMessage. Additional rumours also lead to it being shock proof and waterproof coat.

As for now, until more details are yet to be revealed about the iWatch, it is still too early to predict the winner in the tough competition between Samsung Galaxy Gear and Apple iWatch. But there's one thing, Samsung should definitely be ready once Apple gets their way in the smartwatch niche.
