Not Funny Anymore
While many Mr. Bean fans really believed the actor really died, others were very skeptical about it because of a number of celebrity death hoaxes that circulated in the Internet this year. These fans stressed that a major British news station should have reported Atkinson's death before it spread on the internet like a wild fire.
Based on a recent poll initiated by Celebrity Post, 76 percent of the total respondents agreed that hoax on celebrity deaths, specifically on Atkinson, is not funny anymore.
Some fans even expressed their anger for the fake reports, calling it reckless, distressing and hurtful to Atkinson, his family and most-loyal fans around the world.
Mr. Bean is Alive & Kicking
Atkinson's representatives confirmed the British actor is alive and kicking, asking the public to stop believing on celebrity death rumors.
"He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet," they said, according to Media Mass.
Atkinson became the latest victim of internet death hoaxes. Earlier this year, Hongkong actor Jackie Chan was also reported to have died while Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was allegedly involved in a car accident; both are found to be untrue.
