Robert Pattinson has reportedly spent a fortune to buy a very special gift for his girlfriend, Kristen Stewart as the gorgeous actress celebrated her 23rd birthday on April 9, 2013.

A source told the Daily Star that Robert forked out a staggering amount of $44-K to buy Kristen a limited edition of Bentley fountain pen. This is the perfect gift for Kristen as she left a difficult year behind to mark her 23rd birthday. The expensive pen, according to reports, will be added to K-Stew’s collection.

"Kristen has always collected pens, and has a variety of stylish ones. Rob decided to go big for her birthday this year and brought her a limited edition white gold Tibaldi Bentley Crewe fountain pen", quoted the source in a report by the Daily Star according to news.com.au.

The source added: "There are only 40 of these pens in the world, so it's a real collector's item."

Always the romantic, Robert made sure Kristen never forgets how much he loves her. The British hunk even had his name engraved on the pricey pen. There’s no doubt that Kristen will always have Robert in her mind and she would always be inspired to write him love letters when he sets out for work again.

"He had her name specially engraved on it with the year and wording: 'From R'."

As to why Robert chose the unique but very expensive gift, the source explained that the pen has “British history” associated with it and Robert obviously wanted to set root with Kristen by initially sharing his own beginnings.

The pen is created by the popular car makers, Bentley and by the Italian luxury pen designers, the Tibaldi. The pricey gift surely represents Rob’s feelings for Kristen.

The source added: "The pens have a two-tonne 18-carat yellow gold nib covered in rhodium and ruthenium,” adding that “the barrel is identical to Bentley's dashboard used in their earliest car."

Great choice Robert!

The Twilight couple had been spotted having a great time as they celebrated Kristen’s birthday. Joining them were group of friends including Ashley Benson, Nikki Reed, Scout Compton and many of the couple’s common friends.
