After a jaw-dropping season 1 finale, it looks like “Riverdale” will be coming back with more shockers on season 2. Filming for season 2 has just begun, but die-hard fans are already on a roll as they try to figure out what everyone is about to see when the show returns. What is more exciting is that the director himself gave everyone a tease of what's coming.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Riverdale” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

In his official Instagram account, director Rob Seidenglanz shared a picture that will make fans catch their breath. The picture was captioned “and that’s a wrap on Episode 201,” showing a bloody Riverdale High School letterman jacket. The show’s first season circled around a mysterious death, but this points out the obvious connection of the big surprise at the end when Archie’s father was shot during a robbery.

While Archie was quick to take care of his father, there was no blood on his jacket, notes Teen Vogue. This post could point out that Archie simply gets blood on his jacket in the action, or if it gets worse, Archie himself might get hurt later on. Others pointed out that in an episode titled “A Kiss Before Dying,” it is obvious they could not kill off Archie in his own show, but details will spill when the show comes out.

Just Jared says that “Riverdale’s” official Twitter account announced last weekend that the upcoming season will have 22 episodes starting on October 11 on the CW. The show will pick up right where it left off, which is when viewers saw Archie’s dad Fred get shot in Pop’s Diner. His fate has not yet been revealed.

Nothing much has been revealed for this upcoming season, but the cast and crew did promise earlier that it will have more grit and will be even darker than its predecessor. As of now, fans can only guess as to what this show can bring when it comes back. Some titles of the upcoming episodes have been revealed: “A Kiss Before Dying,” “Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks,” “Chapter Sixteen: The Watcher in the Woods” and “Chapter Seventeen: The Town That Dreaded Sundown.”
